There is a huge difference between being ‘ON’ for every moment and being ‘IN’ every moment. One is exhausting. The other is enlightening. Today is all about being ‘IN’ the moment.
We spend our lives building a life for ourselves, moving at a million miles an hour to get ahead, raise a family, go on vacations, buy cars, and homes, and stuff, save for retirement, slow down and then it ends. The curtain drops.
Your next moment is far from guaranteed. So today, I challenge you to maximize your minutes to make the most of your life. Below is a short list of ways to live bigger in the present moment.
Live Gratitude
Appreciating everything that you receive creates a river of more coming your way. Not only that, but when you fill yourself with gratitude you create a vibe that ripples happiness into every part of your life. You end up enjoying things more which leads to better experiences, stronger relationships, and a desire to serve others. How can you Live Gratitude?
Journal about it
Say thank you
Create Gratitude Lists
Love Unabashedly
If there was one emotion that should exist with no limits, it’s love. Love like there is no tomorrow. Embrace your loved ones, shine your light on others, and care for all creatures in the world (except for maybe snakes... They are just too weird and scary). Give of yourself freely with no expectation for it to return. Your love will flow and attract others to you who WILL love you the way you love them. Give first. Receive when it comes. How to live a life of Love?
Say it, sure, but show it by doing the little things
Read a story to your children
Make the time to ask about your loved one’s days – AND listen to them
Stop and Smell the Roses
All around you, every minute of every day is an amazing experience. You just need to be mindful enough to realize it. It could be a flower opening to the sunlight. It could be the laugh of a little baby. It could be your spouse grabbing your hand. It could be a gust of fresh air washing over you. Every moment provides splendor. Reach out and touch it. Here are three ways you can stop and smell the roses:
Actually, stop and smell a rose
Meditate to connect your inner self to the outside world
Build a list of 5-10 mini miracles you witness each day
Admire the Awe of the World
Much like stopping to smell the roses, the world is full of splendors. From sunrise to sunset, we are blessed with the canvas of creation every day. We get to look out over landscapes in sun, rain, wind, and other elements. We get to experience thousands of colors every moment. We get to feel warmth, cold, wet, and dry on our skin. It is our job to admire the world we live in. Here are a few ways:
Look around at the amazing world we live in
Journal about what you witnessed in the world today
Focus your energy on good thoughts and feelings
Get a New Stamp in Your Passport
For some, traveling is a way of life. It can become a numb feeling if you do it too much. But, getting away from home and seeing another part of the world helps to boost the impact of being home. It creates a bigger appreciation of daily life. It also shows a different perspective on how to live. For instance, traveling to another country and seeing how food is served alters perspectives and enhances appreciation for dining. Immersing into another culture demonstrates alternative ways to live. Going for an extended period cements the impact of the lifestyle. I strongly encourage it. If your business doesn’t allow you to get away for more than one week, book a call with my team to build a plan for geographical freedom HERE.
It does you no good to build a company that makes you unhappy. In fact, before you begin, make sure you build a business that aligns with all you represent. Once you have it running, then do these five things to make sure you enjoy yourself along the way:
Live Gratitude
Love Unabashedly
Stop and Smell the Roses
Admire the Awe of the World
Get a New Stamp in Your Passport
After all, it is easy to get caught up in the business of making money. But it is more important to make money working in your wheelhouse. You will sell better. You will message better. You will prospect better. You will Utilize Your Time better.
